It seems like encounters with demons only happen in movies or at least at night. But this runner encountered an alleged "night marcher" demon during a 100-mile race in Oahu, Hawaii.
Local legend holds that this area is where the ghosts of dead Hawaiian warriors, known as night marchers, often wander.
The woman named Borleis was a runner in the brutal 100-mile HURT race through the Honolulu Mauka trails in Oahu, Hawaii.
However, on her run, Borleis encountered a demon lurking in the forest, watching her.
Fortunately, Borleis was only focused on the competition and did not see the demon. But Borleis's race photos are a completely different story.
Recounting this race, Borleis said this is a brutal race when the athletes have to overcome countless obstacles in the Hawaiian rainforest.
Neither Borleis nor her running partner, Cassie, realized they had encountered the demon until they sent videos and pictures to friends and family.
A member of Cassie's family was shocked to discover a strange "human being" in their photo.
In some photos, a mysterious creature believed to be a devil is lurking in the forest and staring at the camera.
This "demon" had a black body and wore a tattered black robe.
Photos of Borleis' encounter with the demon quickly spread on social media, raising theories about this demon.
While some people believe that this is actually a demon in Hawaii, others believe that it is just someone or a drug addict who happened to pass by.
"There was no one on that stretch of road because all runners had to run clockwise. We didn't see anyone for hours as we ran together," Borleis said.
Meanwhile, Borleis went down this path because she gave up halfway through the competition due to a leg injury and she was on her way back to the gathered location.
The two girls also confirmed that no tourists were hanging around in the forest at that time because it was still very early.
